The predecessor of Zhejiang Natural Museum was the Zhejiang Natural Museum, which was founded in 1984. The new museum located in Area B of West Lake Cultural Square was completed and opened on July 28, 2009. It became a national first-class museum in 2012 and the Anji Museum opened at the end of 2018. There are nearly 130,000 precious specimens in the Hangzhou Pavilion. It is a museum with the theme of "Nature and Mankind", with the aim of improving the people's natural science and cultural quality and the awareness of ecological environmental protection.
